There's a few things though

If there was a $600 one with sora and the same frameset, i'd get that. Although hydros are nice and 11spd shadow mechs will let you run a wider cassette which is good for a casual bike. To the people crying about no racks fenders or lights, you can add all those things later.
The big thing is though op, seeing as you want a sporty fast bike, I think you should get drop bars. If you get more into cycling, you like going fast, and you're reasonably fit, you'll regret going flat bars later. The hydro disc brakes are nice, but modern rim brakes are very good and it's not a concession worth making at the price point. If you do like being slow and comfy, maybe flat bars make sense, but I think this bike is probably a bit stiff in that case and doesn't have enough tire clearance.
