>>12855063 main reasons:
1. Keep in mind that putting an A380 on a new route doesn't mean just purchasing the plane - it also means that the airports involved have to widen their taxiways, significantly renovate gates and apron spacing, and in some cases even extend the runways in order to accommodate it, meaning the investment is much higher than just the cost of the plane itself. 747s don't have that problem.
2. Cargo. The A380F was DOA, whereas the 747F still has quite a market for it. Although an A380F was kind of pointless to begin with - the vast majority of the world's cargo airlines using Boeing aircraft exclusively, and it isn't really worth it for them to retrain half their pilots for the Airbus ratings.
3. Military and government. Boeing generally has no issue building planes for foreign militaries and governments that are equipped with special security\self-defense measures and other equipment as specified by the client. Airbus, on the other hand, has been extremely hesitant to do so for militaries and governments not in the EU, or even for civilian airlines who request them (for instance, the reason El Al uses Boeings exclusively is because all of their aircraft are equipped with anti-AA flares and detection systems, which Airbus refuses to install on their jets). There's a reason why the vast majority of the world's Air Force Ones are Boeings and not Airbuses.
