>>1290250TF-anon, please help me understand. I'm trying the game out again but I just can't wrap my head around it and pretty much nothing makes any sense to me.
I started a free scenario, and what I'm trying to do right now is simple:
There's a steel mill, a coal mine and an iron mine pretty close together. I figure I'd supply the steel mill with iron ore and coal so I set up a track between the three, freight stations on each. But when I put a train on it with a line going to all three stations, it just never loads anything. It's not like I can tell the train what to load/unload so I have no idea what's going on. I'm pretty sure I just fundamentally don't understand how loading/unloading freight works in this game, but the tutorial never really explained it and just told me to build freight stations, make a line and it worked there.
Also, is there really no way to plan an entire section of track (made up of smaller segments) ahead of time? Track laying is very fiddly and pretty much requires you to build in small segments, but at the same time you never really know if the last turn you laid is off by the few degrees it takes for the game to not let you build the next segment the way you want to. Which wouldn't be that much of an issue if I didn't have to commit every time and when I see I wasted my money have to spend even more money to correct the mistake.
