My city got a BRT system for the World Fuck of 2014, it's nice, but the mayor at the time had no other choice but to admit that he only had it built because he couldn't finish or expand our metro system in time for the Cuk, even though he had a full term to do it before that. Our system has been incomplete since the 80s, mind you. I suppose they did good by at least having buses that leave the BRT lanes and join regular bus traffic, because I ride those a lot more than I ever do the actual BRT system.
If one good thing came out of this, too, it's that the ROE is now there. Perfect to just lay kilometres of track.
