From my personal experience, don't get those chink $5 plastic wraparound LEDs with watch batteries. The plastic lasts about a month before it gets brittle from sunlight and falls off.
I got those lights on my road bike, but I didn't buy them, I found them on the road and duct-taped them to my seatpost.
Just get a normal LED rear and front light (cheapest you can find if it's just for commuting). Folding bikes aren't special in that regard. They have seatposts and handlebars, too.
