For those who wonder why the twin cities area has so many off street bike trails, in short Hennipen county bought a bunch abandoned railway ROW for future transit ways 20-25 years ago but they really didn't have the money so they left them alone, some time latter the local neighborhoods got permission to create some temporary recreation limestone trial using the land, fast forward to today and most of the trails are fully paved and and or going anywhere

Its a 120 mile (193 km) fully paved trial that connects Bemidji and Brainerd, its arguably one of not the best trial in the state
