The downside is that the flevobike is unnecessarily durable, and thus heavy. It's made of steel. However, the upside is that the wheels are the same size, it's compact and can fold into two. It's drivetrain is efficient. Few recumbents can say these things about their bike. It's also one of the cheapest recumbents on the market.
Throughout the decades there have been many variations of the Flevobike, including this one, the Chinkara.
