I got some 350 gram tubulars from light bicycle. I built the front wheel but didn't tension it cuz I'm a depressed fool and also I can't find wide enough tubulars and even if I could they wouldn't clear my frame and also the hub flange is too wide for the J bend spokes I got so they are ribbed out and would cut into the hub way deeper then I feel they should sage.

Bump. The rear wheel is worse cuz the driveside flange is extra wide.
The spokes I got come in 2mm and 1.8mm to 1.5mm butt and I got the wrong ones. I tried an older dt revolution and it cleared fine but fml wheelbuilder only stocked one size and I didn't think to check.

I took them to a local LBS for building. Pairing them to a DT240s hubs that I had on earlier set of chink tubulars, DT aerolites to front wheel and aerocomps to rear wheel to make it a bit stiffer. The build quality seemed really good based on the inspection I did to the rims as they arrived.

Clincher time. The rainy season is near so a switch to wheels with alloy brake tracks that are less deadly than carbon rims when barreling down a hill in the rain. Back to tubs in July. The chainrings have been upped a bit as well, I didn't expect that to be so noticeable, eat it and get on.

No trains this time.

I put some new "climbing" wheels on. Their purpose is more for descending though, because with the standard 62mm rims and my low weight high speed stuff was downright dangerous. Its so much better now with these wheels.

It's a 50 lumen light so it's not so much of a retina killer. In flash mode it gets noticed but doesn't bliind people. It is, however, still a little brutal and I generally only switch it on in the mountains, too much for town traffic.

I can only speak for the Avalon wing flex iirc that I have, but it's so hard, doesnt take energy away from me like a brooks, it's small enough it stays out of the way, cut out is deep and drastic enough I can sit on my sit bones rather rhen my taint

I'm pretty sure the shorter the cage, the faster and cleaner the shifting. that's why the cage is matched to the cog set; if your big cog is like < or= 28ish it'll come stock with a short-cage derailleur. MTBs all come standard with long-cage since they have wide gearing.

Thanks man, it's pretty great. But it's actually full R8000 ultegra, the only sram stuff is the chainrings and powermeter. The quarq unit has 130bcd chainrings, and sram rings are usually 130bcd for fairly cheap.

It's an early 90's german "Prophete" brand city bike.
I recently got it for 50 bucks as my daily city beater that I don't care when it gets stolen.

It basically sit in the garage since ever and still has the original tires and all. Top nick.

I liked the dutch style handle bar and the intentionally bent frame.

I rode all winter here in Minneapolis and was incredibly impressed with my first season of fenders. The slushy shit gets expelled out the front like a snowblower, and the fenders are stout enough that snow and ice gets knocked off at the 'entry' edge. Never had any issues with things getting stuck.

Probably the best commuting upgrade I've ever made. Went from a shitty homebrew system that still let road chemicals all over the bike (and me) to these full-coverage units and was much drier and happier. not to mention decreased wear and tear on the drivetrain, brakes, and frame.

Consider spending $20-30 on a nice pair of MTB pin flats if those flats are a bit small for you.

Those dropouts and the derailleur hanger look to be the same as Trezure's. Trezure started out with A050 shifters as well. Might be from the same factory. Still cannot figure out to this day which factory that is though, but they share the dropout/hanger with Vilano bikes, who has confirmed production in China.

I keep forgetting to take new pics of Trezure on group rides so here's another repost.

not sure where you live, but you can get a pugsley in good shape in MN for like $600-800 when it's not fat bike season. they're tanks but they sure do ride well. if I ever get off my ass and replace the stock crankset with a proper 1x with a good chainline I am sure the q factor will decrease dramatically.

I see. The frame looks a lot likesome scandinavian bike I saw on craigslist that had a transmission that was contained in the chainring/crankset, pretty cool. I can't remember what it was called though.

I'd assume they work just like on any bike. As long as the snow is dry it isn't a problem. When the snow turns wet and there's fresh unpacked snow it starts becoming a problem with fenders. Probably also problematic if you do really deep stuff even if it's dry.

it's on its maximum reach and thus very close to the tire but not rubbing on it (i check it often, gonna order some longer reach callipers soon)
i use it a lot, far more lightweight and agile than the other bso i have, so i try to use it only on worthy rides and leave the other one to do the ugly stuff like rain or short commutes.

Pinion? they're housed in a custom bottom bracket. That's the only internal gearing I've heard of that's on the crank, but I'd love to hear of something else.
they were originally designed for MTB but you can get commuters with them, too.

Looks good actually, it's like the small highlight to an otherwise neutral bike. Maybe would be better with a black saddle to make it even more of a "surprise", or maybe understate it a bit with just the drops being yellow or something with the white saddle trying to vie for attention too.

It may be better or not depending on what you value. If you value work-life balance then Europe is definitely much better place to be. If you value earning the maximum amount of money then US is generally the better option.

I personally prefer the European work culture much more and I'm willing to pay the slightly higher taxes that we have.
