What's fun about road cycling is the fitness part, going really fast, climbing hard and beating PRs, seeing high watt numbers on your bike computer, pulling that group, racing and being able to keep up or even winning and riding 5++ hours without having to stop once. In short - improving. It's hard and painful and takes a lot of time so it feels so rewarding once you succeed at it.
Mountain biking is fun even for novices, there's a fitness part in there too and a lot of skills to learn so the reward part is obviously also in there but IMO even beginners can instantly get a lot out of it.
How about we decide on both being great?
