Fixie just goes faster. Ligher bike, Lighter ride. More control on the street too.
>>1330913the kilo is ok, but consider the price of the TT VS the price of a cheap ass road bike and a fixie conversion.
When buying a good fixie, single speed = you need good wheels, you need a good chain, you need good breaks.
ESP good levers
>>1330877best convert to take an older road frame and invest in good wheels - a cheap rear wheel with flip flop and a good, high end front wheel
You can swap the front wheel to any other bike so it's a liquid investment, but you don't know if you like fixies yet, so a cheap 100$ rear wheel is good. It lets you discover what you like - i prefer a track gearing with huge front ring and tiny rear cog, because i have huge legs and power - but a more hilly city might want a less agressive gearing, maybe even a single speed - but that's why you want a flip flop cheap rear wheel.
