it looks like it would be perfect for trails but anything remotely rocky or gnarly it doesn't look to be strong enough.

Looks like a great bike but it looks like mostly a cool road bike you can take on some dirt roads, not some ripper go anywhere bike with a bombproof set of wheels.

Compared to southern germany it's all flat here, true. But Anglia and eastern Schleswig-Holstein is surprisingly hilly, still not enough to warrant a mtb though
