I think it was due to his company getting discounts for using AA. I never disliked AA, as I never found issue on any of the aircraft. But, I always saw the TWA sign at the check in counter down the line and wished we were using them for a change of pace.

There are about 7-9 daily flights going HNL-TYO. The smallest plane on that route is Hawaiians A330-200.

I know, however the 748F still has a long future ahead. Mostly because of it's niche method of loading. Plus many cargo airlines who operate 744Fs haven't decided on fleet renewal yet such as Kalitta or Asiana as the 744F frames still have plenty of life on them.
