>>1339498I mean, they filled two completely different roles (interceptor vs spyplane) but the capabilities of the MiG-31 was designed to counter the SR-71 but in a squad operated mass produced format. They boast similar cruising speeds and altitudes, albeit the MiG-31's capabilities being slightly inferior. It's still one of my top favorite jets of all time due to it's advanced (at the time) missile targeting systems.
