>>1368764I've always ridden 6061 alu bikes and I never felt like they rode worse than 4130, especially when I ride mostly on good, smooth roads and cycling lanes. I was also planning on stripping the frame and keeping it polished, which is easier with aluminium. But like I said it's just a personal preference or bias of mine, I've seen a lot of people recommending chromoly 4130 so I'm open to that idea.

>>1369157I live in Portugal, I meant there's no second hand market for fixed gear bikes, not bikes in general. And for bikes in general the used market is crazy, like 400€ for a rusty 40 year old carbolite 103 Peugeot or 200€ for a no name kids bike frame lol
Buying used parts is probably what I'm going to do but I'm finding it hard because 1) no used bikes/frames my size on local listings, which is the biggest problem, 2) ebay is mostly useless because it's either collection only in other countries or expensive shipping. Fixed gear wheels I'd have to buy new and from what I see I'd have to spend at least 150€ for a low-tier set.
By the way, would you say this is worth the 85€ price? Compared to what I can find locally it looks like a bargain but I'm not sure:
