It's not a logical reaction, it's an emotional one.
The first and most common reason is jealously. Cagers, not motorists, see cyclists '''running''' reds or filtering through a jam and being cucked by traffic makes them lose it.
They have to pay for fines and insurance and use plates, and cyclists don't, and this isn't ''''fair''' to them.
They see one spot of dedicated bicycle infra and their rage clouts their mind to the point they don't see acres and acres of parking lots or miles of road infra that's car specific.
That last point feeds into my next; entitlement. When the entire country bends over backward to accommodate you, to the point where you don't even realize it anymore, this perpetual entitlement to a constant forward motion sends them into a rage when it's impeded (or not). Car stopping to make a left off a one-lane road, all the cars more or less calmly wait. A cyclist doing the same, where cars might actually be able to continually pass by? Honks and shouts and throwing cans. Such is life.
I also think most drivers are doing so on auto-pilot and they're just pissed that there's something around them that causes them to have to actually pay attention for a second.
>>1341461Hence whey they are required to bike on the sidewalk with helmet, and I am free to wear what I like on my head on the road, where I am legally required to be.
>>1341454People don't bike at 10mph, at least the ones in the street. That's your MUP rider or sidewalk DUI special friends.
