>>1343178A local oldfart railfan told me about the 1st time he saw (heard) a GTEL. They were visiting from Canada and he and a friend were sitting on a curve waiting for a train. In the distance they could hear this screaming engine sound getting louder and louder. They looked at each other & wondered WTF that was coming from & even checked the skies. Eventually the train came into view and they snapped a few pics. They were very impressed to say the least.
