>>1354080>doors break down every now and thenThis shouldn't be an issue on a properly made train. Whether it's an inherent design flaw or something maintenance related, the transit agency should make sure this practically never happens.
>Can you not ask your way through the crowds to get out?Clearly you've never been to New Jersey or the New York City area. I go "excuse me" but most of the time people just look at me and don't move.
That being said, even if they do move, there's so little space to maneuver that it still will result in people getting jostled around (big reason why I think the seating arrangement should be changed to either aisle-facing or 2-1 so as to give more room to walk and stand).
>You're talking about all routes combined, right?Nope, just one route. There's a section of 8 stations where 2 routes always overlap (there are another 7 where a 3rd route is run on weekdays so there's overlap as well). Looking at the schedule for the station where my office is, there's a part of the day where on one route trains arrive at 6:59, 7:08, 7:18, 7:30, 7:39 for headways of 9, 10, 12, and 9 minutes. For the other line, a train arrives at the station at 6:56, 7:03, 7:14, 7:21, 7:28, 7:35 for headways of 7, 11, 7, 7, and 7 minutes. The total time between trains of all lines at that station for that period of time then ends up being 3, 4, 5, 6, 4, 3, 7, 2, 5, and 4 minutes consecutively.
