>>1347356no don't own one yet, in fact I wouldn't get a 5th wheel, I'd go for a sail boat when I get to retirement.
Right now I only have a little GMC 1500, and looking at 15-18foot bumperpull trailers, it's all I need right now.
A lot of people with the RVs have done their time roughing it in a tent. I'm not at the RV point, not that old, but am starting to see the way of not having to sleep on the ground anymore. having a toilet and shower is goodly too.
It gets cold here and not unusual to drop to -10c during spring camping, my sleeping bag is great but I hate getting out of it for that cold morning piss. Having a trailer with a little wood stove and even just a chemical toilet makes for cozy winter and fall nights.
the people who stay in still like the hike or taking a canoe out for a paddle but want to sleep, eat, shit, in comfort. A lot of them have done their time pretending to be Bush Man Jack.
vans are nice but you are pulling that weight all the time, trailers allow you to drop the trailer off and save fuel on your trips into / around town.
And truck arn't that bad on gas, mine gets aboutthe same MPG as my old VW Golf VR6
