another qualm, frequencies. most lines have 60 or 30 min frequencies (or 45 for whatever fucking reason). one of the very few that has a 7 (7!!) min is used EXCLUSIVELY by hobos. there's this long road that segments the city in two, and all up and down it is hobo territory. i won't even walk on it, it's just that fucking bad. if a crime is committed there's a 4/5 chance it was on that street. the bus is usually almost entirely empty but for 2-3 hobos. and this, THIS, line is the only one with a 7 min freq. other lines get so fucking crowded there's not even room to STAND let alone sit down. do they shuffle resources? no. all the money goes to the hobo transit line.
bus is what you get when you want to look like you're "doing public transit" but won't pay the money actually necessary for it. all bus should be eliminated. close down major cageways and install light rail or tram.
if you close the fucking major roadways, the cagers will be so inconvenienced they'd hop on the rail, thus funding it. rip the bandaid off. replace all 5+ lane roads other than interstate with a rail system. not parallel, not adjoining--completely replacing. either the cagers can have fun with a stopsign every other intersection and 20 mph limits, or they get on board the besttransit.
