There's nothing inherently wrong with an 'interference fit' bearing like pressfit as a mechanical engineering concept.
That being said, the *implementation* sucks because you can't remove a pressfit bottom bracket without destroying it, as opposed to threaded which can be removed and reinstalled without damaging it. The main advantage of pressfit is lower manufacturing costs. For an average casual rider who will probably never replace their BB for as long as they own the bike it doesn't matter. If you ride hard and/or do your own PM on your bike(s) it's a pain in the ass because you not only have to have specialized tools to deal with them but you have to have new replacement(s) on hand because these are one-time use.
The machined, threaded alternatives that are available are superior if pricey, but you can also press the cartridge bearings out of them and press new bearings in essentially as many times as you want and re-use the threaded shell, with the added bonus of no 'creaking' problems, ever.
..and that, ge/n/tlemen, should be """/subject""" and """/thread"""
