I got elite custom race resin cages for $9/ea and they hold bottles far more securely than any wire cage I had used previously. They are also lighter and look better on my modern race bike.

I've got 2 bottle cages with 1.5l bottles inside my frame triangle, one under the downtube, 2 behind the saddle, 2 on the fork, 2 in front of the handlebars and 2 on the seat stays.
15 liters in total, and they're all full of piss.

I've got a pair of chink knockoffs. Weights were 15 g and 16 g iirc and they were around $15 w/ shipping for a pair. Done about 3 000 km with them so far and absolutely no problems at all. Hold the bottles securely. If they do break at some point I'll just get new ones.

10/10 would definitely recommend.

Skin tight clothes is good, the effect is significant, especially when riding against the wind.

Bottle holder obviously is really not important, unless you are a professional time trial rider, that needs aero bottle holders.

Unless someone is so completely worried about the appearance of their bike (it doesn't match the rest of the color scheme, what will the neighbors say?) I really don't get why anyone would bother. Plain old bottle cages made from welded aluminum rod stock have always worked just fine for me. I wouldn't spend more than $10 for a bottle cage no matter how light or snazzy-looking it was.

I've had several aluminum bottle cages break on me. I'm pretty happy with my Arundels. I have no idea what I paid for them, or what they weigh. They look nice and they keep my bottles in place, without breaking. Enjoy being surrounded by ugliness.

Who said anything about that? Not me. You must be confused.

Form should never be more important than function. Clean functionality is it's own aesthetic. Furthermore a bottle cage is just about the least important part of any bike. So long as it's doing it's job, isn't broken, it's fine. If I'm doing *my* job correctly then bottle cages are the last thing anyone is looking at anyway.

and they are more functional than any other, for casual bikes, as you can bend them to fit many different size things.
Although yes, the cheaper ones do break, i've broken a few too. For me it's Elite Ciussi cages. Those arundel are pretty cool but i wouldn't have them on a post 70s bike.
