I have been obsessing with the idea of a hydrofoil bicycle for quite a while, shame I'm not too much of a /diy/ guy so I've got no idea how to build one

Also this, it's only a wheel you put onto a BMX, but I wonder if it would work better on a bike with gears since you'd be able to control better the output.

Of course it's just for fun, I've also seen a canoe with a very similar system installed, once speed is gained the canoe lifts off the water and only the foils are left. But it would be awesome see someone try to go between two islands like that, just as a proof of concept.

Basically in the middle where the tyre is supposed to be there's a metal tube, which has an array of rubber pads which pivot on the metal tube thus allowing the bike to make a fairly controlled drift.
