>>1367007Right now I'm using an Abus Granit X Plus Mini because I got one used for less than the price of a Bulldog Mini, but before that I used the Bulldog Mini, which is just about the perfect size lock for NYC.
Honestly, the Abus might be a ~better lock~, but the Bulldogs are the most *usable* u-locks I know of. Kryptonites are fiddly as fuck, and this Abus sometimes doesn't go in and latch all the way, like I always check my lock anyway but I actually have to fix it sometimes now. It's also wider than the Bulldogs, which sometimes is annoying if you hang the lock on your top tube, like I do.
It has a slightly larger shackle area than the Bulldog Mini, which is a mixed bag. It'll lock to a *few* things the Mini wouldn't, although not as much as you'd think because it's wider but not much longer. The flipside beyond convenience is that the bike is more prone to slipping down instead of being held up by the lock.
The perfect lock? This Abus, but the width of the Bulldog, with shackle hooks that don't catch before the lock position so much.
