SMP's old meme saddles are for very specific sitbone widths, and offered different levels of padding, and different rail materials. Some came in like 10 different colors. Their newer saddles are more similar to snubnose models like the Specialized Power and Shimano PRO Stealth, both of which are available in fewer sizes, rail choices, and colors.

I tried an older SMP once...a Drakon I think. It was unbearably painful. Not just asspain, but back pain and hip pain. I guess it was the wrong width, but I've never ridden a saddle that was that sensitive to ass width.

Because if you're particularly concerned with bike fit to the point where you're buying expensive meme saddles then your money should first go into a professional bike fit, which will be able to determine which expensive meme saddle is likely best for you.

I highly doubt there are many of those saddles on bikes that didn't take 3 hours with caad models of your asshole and lazers tracking your knees to setup.

The problem with that though is that I use the same bike for running to the store in jeans that I use for riding 30 miles in bibs, so I need something that would be comfy for both

Don't buy any droop-nose bullshit, get an ISM saddle.

Also, never buy any saddle before test-riding that exact saddle. If your bike shop won't let you test a saddle, get a new bike shop because it's a basic courtesy.

Ya. The Power is for the kind of rider who stays in one position all the time, and is slightly curved to keep your butt in one place. It has a narrow nose so if you're the kind of person who slides forward in a climb or when hammering, it's going to suck. The "wings" on the back flex a little bit, which makes it more comfortable. The Stealth is flatter and stiff as fuck, but has a wider nose. It's made more for people who move around. I'm not 100% sold on mine yet because I haven't slapped my nuts on it for a srsbznss ride since I bought it, but it seems legit.

Just get the cheap standard TRK and call it a day. In case it doesn't fit (which I don't think) you know in what direction to go from there.
I got the TRK for my road bike to have a comfy saddle without the need for padded shorts.
My sitbone is a rather wide 130mm and it fits quite good. (the TRK is "160mm" wide. The useable surface is narrower.)

You have to get used to selle SMP though, it's a bit of a different feel of sitting but I like it a lot.

You can get knockoffs from aliexpress. You can buy ISM knockoffs too, but they're just plain uncomfortable relative tot he newer stubby deep channel saddles. There's no reason it needs to be split up there.

I switched from a brooks Team Pro to a Power and the difference was like night and day. Switched because I was getting knee pain and had tried changing everything else already. Disappeared basically overnight after switching. Also generally much more comfy to ride on - I go further, faster, because my saddle isn't fighting me every step of the way. Wish I'd swapped sooner.
