Pic related is an Argentine pacific locomotive, built in the UK, running on 5' 6" railways in Buenos Aries.

Next one, a Victorian Railways X class 2-8-2.
Built in Australia to 5'3" gauge and seen here pulling stock cars near Newport.

The P38 2-8-8-4 locomotive, the heaviest and largest steam locomotive built in the USSR. Built to 1524mm (5') gauge. Only 4 of these monsters were built and although it was more successful than the 4-14-4, all were scrapped when it was decided electrification and diesels were the way forward.

For something more up-to-date, here's an Indian railways WAG-9 locomotive on a container train.
These locomotives were created by changing the gear ratios between the electric motors and the wheels of the WAP-7 class, allowing for more tractive effort at lower speeds.

Indian Railways are looking at creating electrified dedicated freight corridors with clearance for double-stacked container trains under the wires.
