>>1377388I'm coming from these fucks which you just slap them on the bottom of your shoes and clip right in, no instructions needed. I read all the documentation on the website and followed everything. I'm now reading through weightweenies threads trying to figure out why I can't clip in (the full force of my body weight won't get them to engage). It apparently could be one or more of the following:
-Insufficient application of Speedplay brand lube (WARNING: YOU MUST USE THE EXACT KIND OF LUBE FOR THE COLOR PLASTIC ON YOUR PEDALS OR THEY WILL EXPLODE)
-They're just new, "it's like that at first"
-Undertightened (less than 2.5 NM, oh btw did I mention you have to convert that because Speedplay does everything in hogshead-fathoms?)
-Overtightened (more than 2.5 NM)
-There's a very special neuromuscular training that I have to engage in, at first it's weird but eventually it's fine
-It works fine IRL you just can't do it in your living room because it won't be the right kind of motion (?!?!?WTF?)
-I need to use "extra shim" (seems like they're pretty much flat but there's a tiny, almost imperceptible bit of play on one of the adapters, is that normal? Who the fuck knows, there's a 6 paragraph autistic section in the manual where it talks about "inner edge bowed in" vs "outer edge bowed out" vs "transverse twist along the longitudinal axis" and at one point it just says "do not email us if it is this issue, call our 800 number for a prayer session because no written words will help"
-I may need to very carefully grind out some plastic around one of the nuts with a dremel
-I need to use more heel motion
-I need to use LESS heel motion
-I shouldn't use leg muscles, just "my weight" (whatever that means)
>>1377392Actually it's 6 pieces of plastic per side, 7 screws, and 3 nuts.
Anyway it looks like neither of you has used them so I'll just have to wait for a Real Cyclist™ to respond in a few days, enjoy your wellgo platform pedals
