Got new carbon handlebars. Noticed this ripple, should I be worried? Also I think the shop mounted the hoods too low.

well they weren't like that before i got it back from the shop. i noticed it a little yesterday, did 30 miles today.

i did do a little adjustment myself, wasnt too tough with the screws, could light tightening cause this?

You NEED to use a torque wrench on CF components unless you want to ruin them.
Take it back to the shop that installed it for you. Have them inspect it. If your bars are compromised now it could create a dangerous situation where the bars could fail on you without warning and you could crash. You'll have to replace them.

either product defect or shop fuck up not you. call the shop immediately and bring it back imediately its their liability not yours if you paid for the job and parts.

Well the bars were cheap but installation wasn't. Also, they fucked up my shifting, on my ride I noticed I'd have to shift up twice, then down to get it to move into bigger gears.
We averaged 22.6 mph but hald the time my bike was spazzing out. Making awful shifting noises

So do I ask for refund or what?

This is fucked.

or just get good, 4mm hex nuts need about fingertight and half a turn, maybe a little more or less depending on your grip strenght/material

Most carbon bars aren’t cheap, and even the reputable Chinese carbon ones aren’t cheap compared to what installing handlebars should cost. How much did you even pay?

Nitto stuff is very well made but honestly you can get a Ritchey Road Curve bar for about $40 USD and it will fit modern stems with its 31.8 mm center diameter.

Aluminum handlebars are usually more likely to survive a crash than carbon, and are far more forgiving for errant torque applications by the stem clamp.

It's fucking amazing how bad even the best shops are. Mechanics I've known to do good work for years are getting so fucking sloppy that it's driving me nuts. Like I go for a headset job and it comes back with the cables misrouted, the brakes aren't hooked up right, and the QR front is open. And this is from one of the "better" shops in my city. I know they're slammed with work but Jesus fuck at least make sure the bike is safe to ride before handing it to the customer. But that's why you need to do a full inspection before you ride your bike if you take it to a shop.
