I used to use Strava but I no longer wish to send my riding schedule and routes into a corporate database. I used to track everything but stopped when I realized I was documenting unofficial (illegal) trails behind the University and night rides in a State Forest.

Now I use Wahoo Fitness because I'm mostly interested my time in different HR zones. All the data stays on my smartphone unless I decide to share it with another app, e.g. RideWithGPS or Strava.

I use strava, trainingpeaks, and by default garmin connect since I have a garmin computer.

I don't use apps because I don't use a smartphone.
I do download my Joule GPS+ after every ride and upload the ride data to Strava, just so guys on my team see what I'm working on.

strava is good as a biking social app. it's a place to share ride photos. i've even used it to look up the names of people that I met at different points of a ride.

the bad part of strava is taking the segment leader stuff so seriously that you ignore friends or ride recklessly.

AAT Another Activity Tracker from F-Droid
It's free as in freedom (GPL), consumes close to no battery. Does everything you'd need it to and nothing more.

I have KOMs and still think it's the worst part of Strava. There are plenty of segments around me that I refuse to even try because some idiot has set them up so that you gotta blast through blind intersections. Some of them even could've been without any intersections if they had been slightly shorter.
