Even a LHT is too long for me. As long as you've got tyre and heel clearance it's enough. I think that's the general trend as well, with more people choosing to tour on what once would have been called a sport-touring bike as opposed to a longer touring bike.
And are these rivs even being used for touring? With the bullmoose cruiser bars? It definitely doesn't make sense on a comfy beater.
