>>1383640But nobody said to go out and order them, just that there's a bike that has them, that's not terribly expensive.
Speaking from experience, they're WAY better than the no-name house-brand who knows WTF wheels that came with my $1500 road bike. They're lighter, stiffer, they roll smoother, they have a nice wide rim so my 700x28s aren't lightbulbed like mad, they engage almost immediately when I pedal unlike my generics that feel like you're pedaling air and then SLAM the engagement out of nowhere, and they look better which is always a plus.
When I bought the bike I was like, "oh, yeah, lowest end of the entry level". I got caught up in spec hierarchies, I was thinking I'd get the bike home and immediately replace the wheelset because I just HAD to have DT Swiss. Now that I'm riding them I'm wondering what the point would even be. To save 200g? Who gives a shit. Even for climbing they feel fantastic. I'm sure they're not the most aero but I don't like riding on flat land, it's boring.
I've seen some people complain that the freehubs aren't great, I guess we'll see.
