Just Commuters™ and Unracers™ like me don't need lighting because there's adequate lighting on the 1 km stretch of road I ride next to when I don't feel like walking. Anyone who disagrees is part of the lycra mafia. Also if you have no lights it means you have friends unlike people who "race" (this is dutch for "people who have decent equipment that doesn't suck"). I bought a Just Commuter™ folding bike which contains a proprietary $1600 folding shifty/IGH system that only works on my exact model of expensive yuppie commuter bike, which means I am totally better with money than those rich racing freds who commute on $800 diamond frame racing bikes and OEM-spec Tiagra.
