>>1389605>I got this bike from my uncle who works at the tip. Is it worth cleaning it up?Can`t see much, but from what I see it looks like it is generaly in a decent condition.
>It definitely needs a tune up and some lube, maybe some parts replaced idk.Yea, it does indeed.
Here a short list on things you should do to get it in a rideable condition again:
>check tiresDo they still hold air?
Are they dried out?
>clean and lubricate chainRemove it, drop it into a glass of gasoiline, shake it, dry it and lubricate it with oil.
Any oil does the job, except WD-40, that shit evaporates away.
Thick gearbox oil is great, but motor oil works as well.
>adjust the shiftingThere are barrel adjusters and limiting screws on the front and rear mech.
>check brakesDo they still work?
>Thought it would be better to ask about this bike before just buying a brand new one (excuse the upsidedown shit, im in straya)Looks more than good enough to perform some overdue maintainance and ride it again.
Please post a pic where we can see the whole bike and your issues with it, so I can tell you more about it.
