Manufacturing robots have better precision and repeat accuracy than humans.
Human production is just horribly inefficient and therefore more expensive. Western "brands" also have to carry huge overhead costs for their marketing, nice facillities, showrooms and nice managment salaries.
Thinking this would result in a better quality product because it is expensive is silly.
I'd rather trust a car manufactured in an automated assembly line, where lots of safety checks are implemented automatically, than a car made by humans.
It's true that small nieche quanities can't benefit from economies of scale as much and are more expensive therefore.
