>>1393392>Without even considering double-deckers, the capacity is the same, only they create a greater traffic disturbance.LMAO this is complete bullshit. You have to take into consideration that you can only run so many vehicles along one lane per hour, about 20-30 depending on traffic light priority. More than that and they will bunch up and slow down and go off the timetable. The length of the vehicle is irrelevant tho. Now, a large bus can carry about 160 pax, a long tram can carry over 400 pax. So one bus lane moves 20*160 pax=3200pax/hr, a tram lane moves 20*400 pax=8000 pax/hr. Simple math. Idiot.
>Rolling resistance is a meme, like 10% of energy use>10% less energy>carries more than twice as many passengersReally activates the old almonds.
>I don't know if this is true or not, nor do I care. They are empirically twice as expensive to operate.Amazing argument based on just pulling shit out your ass. Even if it were true, we'd be talking twice as expensive to move over twice as many passengers. Perfectly worth it.
>>a much smoother ride>FalseYou're not even trying at this point ffs, everyone who has used both knows trams are comfier.
