You have to take into consideration that you can only run so many vehicles along one lane per hour, about 20-30 depending on traffic light priority. Now, a large bus can carry about 160 pax, a long tram can carry over 400 pax. So one bus lane moves 20*160 pax=3200pax/hr, a tram lane moves 20*400 pax=8000 pax/hr. Simple math. Idiot.
