-stan, -ia, and -land are all the same thing in different languages, -stan being from Turkic languages, -ia being Latin, and -land being Germanic. They basically all mean "homeland of" (ex. Kazakhstan = home of the Kazakhs, Poland = home of the Poles, Serbia = home of the Serbs).
