The major development hurdles, in my opinion, would be 1) the gigantic high-bypass engines with almost twice the power of a GE90 and would be big enough to drive an SUV into and, 2) the mid-mounted wing (for ground clearance issues with the fuckhuge engines, presumably) which intersects the bottom deck and as such about 20 rows there are cucked out of window seats.
Hypothetically, they could skip the engine development phase and rework the design into a trijet powered by three GE9X's, with the #2 engine mounted on what is essentially an inverted pylon over the tail empennage between the fins of a V-tail assembly which would shield noise and provide easy maintenance access. Though adding another engine would increase operating costs over the twinjet configuration, it would still cost less to operate than a quadjet.
