Why is proper boat shit so expensive? Like, what's the difference between regular epoxy and "marine grade epoxy", aside from $10? Epoxy is neither water soluble nor affected by salt... I just got my first boat, a little 17' sailboat, and need to do some work on it, and it doesn't seem like any of it needs to be costly given that it's basically a fiberglass bathtub with some bedsheets on top. If you have functional hands and a shred of skill, it shouldn't be difficult to repair or maintain, no?
