What's the exact problem with let's say the shoes I posted in the picture besides some don't like the looks?

Is the power transfer so important?
Planning to switch to SPD clipless pedals and need shoes for that.
When riding my flat pedals, I actually prefer a less stiff sole. Have tried several times to use it with some stiff sole (Adidas Terrex Swift) but my foot would get numb more easily and thanks to its thinkness I feel disconnected with the pedal.
What cheap entry SPD shoes would you recommend, ones that you can also walk with normally?
