Probably the best value of any bike you can get for sub $300. This coming from a guy who owns pretty much everything but a bmx bike. Single speed, small and maneuverable enough that you can get it in places, and no forks/shocks/derailleurs or fancy brakes to fuck about with. I might consider adding one to my stable for racing/jumping if I wasn’t convinced that my back would constantly be in agony from pedaling around like i have somebody’s dick in my ass.

They also accelerate faster, have less rolling resistance at the same psi, and the wheels are harder to get out of true.

I can't say definitely, but I can't imagine it's significantly. Even so, see above point. Also aero resistance, but you're not likely to go fast enough for that to matter.

Hardly a factor in ride fun quality.

Practically, none of these advantages are very relevant if you don't do tricks.

(Also, I wish I could do tricks.)

OP is talking about the mostly adult adults riding around on 90s/00s style BMX bikes which are nearly clownbike size.

Those guys are riding them because it's still the bike they had in their mom's garage, and they don't wanna invest the money in something else because they don't know any better and are complete fuck ups in life. That or they stole it.
