I am a software developer. A prerequisite for my work is a computer. I ride a bike to work every day. The computer is what has allowed me to gain my measure of independence by being the tool through which I earn my living.
Some seamstress in a sweatshop in China is earning their measure of independenc by a sewing machine.
The car, computer, sewing machine, what ever else you might think of, are all tools of our respective trades. I seen nothing wrong with liking our tools.

I understand what you're saying about the infrastructure of society, and I don't neccesarily disagree with you there, but I'm saying that it's not applicable to anons original short comment about liking the tool of the trade that lets them earn a living. Grafting that interpretation onto anons comment, is a missrepresentation of what anon actually said, born out of reading too much of your own values onto someone elses 15 word post.
