is it good? Yes, I would say, because car has 20-30% efficient motor to begin with, and in the end you have like 12-15% on the wheels. This doesn't include petrol refining and shit.
This means that electric car (scooter, same shit, except electric cars would be more efficient, because they would be designed by real engineers, with good power supplies and VFDs) would be twice as efficient, compared to gasoline car.
Now. What about cycling (or slave powered rickshaw)?
Bicycles are really efficient machines (because they are simple set of gears and bearings). Let's say 97%.
Human is 15-20% efficient. So, if you ignore efficiency of food, it would be 17-ish %.
Now. Comparing food efficiency is pretty hard.
