How many people have been memed into buying a gravel bike live nowhere near gravel roads? Of the eight places I've lived in the USA, only two of those locations had any gravel roads within a 10 mile radius of my house. Others had gravel roads within ~25-30 miles of my house, but I would have to intentionally ride out to those places to find myself off the tarmac, and I could ride hundreds of miles easily avoiding any unpaved roads along my route. Is gravel riding just mtb lite where people drive out to the sticks to justify their new bike purchase?
