Why do you hate trekking bikes?

-Light always screwed on the bike, so you don’t have to carry it all day with you and you don’t have to think about charging. It just works.

-Mudguards allow you to cycle when it’s rainy or the street is wet after rain, without getting a strip of water and mud on your back.

-Rear-carrier allows you to take an ergonomically rucksack with you, without getting a wet and disgusting back.

-Chainguard allows you to wear non-slim-fit-trousers while cycling but it can also be dismounted fast.

-Can be bought with suspension if you live in some third-world country like Germany but also without.

Sure, a street bike is more efficient, but:

-It matters mostly on high speeds, which you can’t ride safely anyways in large and dense city’s because of cages, other cyclists, especially walking people, children.

-Your chances of death are high if you forgot your light or you didn’t bring it but stayed somewhere longer, then you thought you would.

-Limits you to slim fit trousers.

-Brings all the street-dirt on your clothes, if it’s wet.

-Has tires that are made for good roads, but will fail in the first 5km in winter, when the germans scatter those small stones everywhere.

-Forces you to get a sweaty back, or to have some bike-bag that you only can wear as shoulder back which destroys your body.
