And when people take measures to ease zoning regulations, NIMBYs contradict themselves and say it's "socialism".
Many housing crises in the country are a result of zoning, so YIMBYs are trying to free up regulations. And when you think about it, it's a serious infringement of homeowners' constitutional rights, that the government is telling them how tall their house can be, they need to set it back 20ft from the road, they can't build a granny flat, etc.
