i do the worm if riding on a hard gear (used to rock 46x16)
now i find myself just letting the bike dance with my hips side to side slightly, it's hard to explain, but it's much easier to be smoother on 36x16
either way, i'd say 60% of the time is standing, mashing; longest climb i've done on a ss was 3km and average 6% (peaking at 13%)

i prefer to take routes with sharps short climbs than long incremental ones.

38mm, they only fit because I'm using a fixed and can slide the wheel back in the dropouts lol. Unfortunately the wheels themselves (and the tires anyways) are absolute dogshite and need to be replaced, but it really isn't worth it until a ludicrous deal comes along. Until then I'll ride my shitty shitter until it breaks

I've hardly ever seen a singlespeed bike with track forks. Finding a frame with track forks is practically impossible, without paying out of the nose for a track or hipster frame on-line.

I don't like track ends because without a fancy hub you need to carry a wrench, you have to adjust the alignment or fiddle with chain tensioner, I don't like

In that case horizontal dropouts wont help. Then your only option is to get a frame with vertical dropouts and run a chain tensioner pully on it, or accept a slack chain. Vertical dropouts are everywhere. The reason no-one makes single speed bikes stock with vertical dropouts is that it's suboptimal.

Mount wheel so that the chain isn't excessively slack.
Tighten right wheel nut.
Put pressure on front right point on the wheel and tighten left nut.
Loosen right nut.
Put pressure on front left point on the wheel and tighten right nut.
Loosen left nut. The wheel will center itself to run straight.
Tighten left nut.

You now have a tight chain and a straight mounted wheel. It's a trick I learned from Sheldon Brown.

I fail to see what dish has to do with anything. Keeping a wheel dished is part of the procedure for truing the wheel, same as for any bicycle wheel.

what i mean is that when you adjust it according to the front of the wheel like you said or according to the visual alignment between the seat stays, you don't know if the wheel is perfectly straight at the hub or if the rear of the wheel is misaligned ever so slightly because the dish is wrong. maybe you can check it with strings tho like how you check if a frame a straight.

This is still no different from any other bike. You have the same problem of knowing if the wheel is straight and dished on exactly every other bike too. If it's not not bad enough to be noticable, it's good enough.
