you need your PPL (civilian license) to get your CPL (commercial license) so I don’t really understand
You absolutely need a CPL to certify for an airliner license or start your own charter business, with PPL you’re only legally allowed to charge passengers for gas
He probably failed because he made up some disability years ago to get a handicap parking permit or cheap adderall or something

I fly without a license because I built my own plane. Granted it only seats one person (it's a cub clone, something a person can do in their garage for about the price of a car) but I get paid $1k/day to help coordinate fire planes. I'd be working now if not for the airport being closed due to PG&E cutting it's power, which is an issue our fire guys are supposedly bringing up with the FAA.

Also, fuck PG&E.

Im pretty sure you still need some sort of license to operate that. Especially if you enter class C airspace.
