People think airships were only here for a short while but their development lasted atleast 80 years, from the early 1800s onwards to 1930s. they had like a 100 year headstart on planes.

The world eventually discovered they weren't really become as useful as sea ships but the Germans still loved them because they were awe inspiring to look at, and boosted some sort of national pride.

Weight restrictions are tight on airships, you can't really make a luxurious interior on these. Hindenburg famously had its cabins comparable to the most baisic ones on a ship.
