I thought that he was installing some sort of tubeless+tube thing but he wasn't, it was just regular tubular style but he used some tire bead sealant on the rim of the tire. I'm not really sure of the reason for that but he did, there wasn't any regular tubeless sealant in the tire, just the tube.
I'd asked him to do it tubeless but not emphatically and I guess he decided not to. Probably just as well, I don't have the gear at home to maintain a tubeless system anyway.
I got the tire off because it was flat and I managed to break the seal of the bead sealant, once I had a bit off the rest could be kind of torn away, also since it's a tubeless compatible rim and tubeless compatible tire, it had kind of snapped into the rim as well and was a bit hard to get out.
The puncture was a bit of glass in the tread of the tire, guess it went through to the tube though I didn't actually check that, could have been an old patch coming loose, I just chucked the tube and put a new one on, poked out the glass from the inside with a screw driver and gave the tire a bit of a clean inside.
