>>1424070a small pine-forest nicknamed the pit
it had been converted into an mtb track in the 28 years between harvests
there was a little bit of everything
most of it was high speed trails occasionally interrupted by table tops and doubles and a few sections almost like a giant pump track
with some descent's marked mostly by frequent 6 inch tree roots and 1 to 2 foot drop offs caused by larger tree roots
there was sort of a minimum speed required or the bike gets stuck
anything with less than 100 mm of suspension travel would not survive
everything was made of a sort of clay and sand combination that formed deep ruts on the corners so one has to pic a line
that and pine needles and sand puddles were allover the place
the best part was the roll ins, I'm not sure how to call them but its like a bmx half pipe but 50 foot deep, gravity pipe ?
down one side and up the other
maybe I was not riding fast enough as I did not fall off badly
only brushed a few trees then fell into a grove of gorse bush that broke my fall
this was along time ago, so I'm out of the loop
at the time the giant reign was had a very slack head tube compared to the other bikes
but I was not tempted to replace it as it seemed better in the high speed sections
