It's horrible and the infrastructure is pitifully bad for the most part (parisian trunk section is vulnerable to floods and is closed 2 months every summer so that they can keep it from crumbling appart (and doing some preparatory works for the eventual system renovations).
The Northern branch is alright. The southwestern branch to Versailles Chateau is decrepit. The southeastern branch is alternatively shared with express and freight traffic, it's quite decrepit too. The southern transversal is unfit for mass commuting and lacks electrical power forcing slower underpowered sets into the main trunk.
It's stupid.
